The Chubby’s Project is a hyperlocal nonprofit dedicated to food justice and building connections within the Hopewell community. Through our lunch program and food pantry, The Project aims to nourish the community’s mind, body, and spirit by creating a full circle of connection between recipients, volunteers, donors, and food service workers.
Who We Are
What We Do
The Chubby's Project serves over 7000 meals per year and
operates a 24/7 Food Pantry along the restaurant on Railroad
Place. Our weekly meal distribution requires the active
participation of 30 volunteers who help prepare, pack, and
deliver the meals along four distribution routes each Thursday,
Friday and Saturday. Soup is delivered to a smaller number of
families on Tuesday.
Our “families” are our neighbors, most of
whom need a bit of love as they rebound from the unexpected
accident, illness, or job change. We deliver meals and kindness
and are able to do so for a cost of $3 per meal thanks to our
partnership with local farmers and nonprofits like Rolling
Harvest - and the generous support of over 300 members of the
community.
Our Impact
What We Need
Volunteers!
Key needs include volunteers to help pack and deliver (drive) meals, social media, light bookkeeping, and event coordination

As a not-for-profit organization, The Chubby’s Project is grateful
to receive funds from our community members. Over 300
families are active donors, along with a number of the local
churches and family foundations. We have also received
generous funding from the Hopewell Harvest Fair, Pennington
Day, Hopewell Block Party, Hopewell Council of Churches,
scout troops, local schools and businesses - and many more!
Help spread the love!
